Two chemicals meet at the gun in an exact proportion at a controlled temperature. Miss that proportion and the material never cures as it should.
The signs are consistent. A chemical odour still present weeks or months on. Foam drawing back off the framing, at times by half an inch and more, which reopens the very air route the work existed to shut. A surface that has gone crumbly, chalky or an odd colour. Sheets letting go of the sheathing.
Material that has not cured can keep releasing compounds for a long time. It is not something to live alongside and it is not something to bury.
The remedy is mechanical removal down to clean framing, then a proper reinstallation. We do this work and we are straight with you about what it takes.
Applied To A Cold Surface
The other frequent cause is spraying onto a surface below the product's minimum temperature. The result looks the same: shrinkage and a bond that lets go.
It happens most often in winter attics and unheated garages, where somebody read the air temperature instead of the deck.

Wet, Mouldy And Rodent Damaged Material
A roof leak, a burst pipe or a long running damp problem soaks insulation and it never recovers. Wet cellulose and wet fibreglass stay wet, surrender most of their value, and hold whatever colonises them.
